Accessible Entrance Update
Work is progressing towards the installation of an accessible entrance at the front of the Village Hall. Hall users identified this as the improvement that they would most like to see made to the Village Hall, and it features strongly in our five year plan. We have now submitted plans for a ramp at the front of the Hall to Bromsgrove District Council for planning consent. You can view a copy of the current plans by clicking on this link: AVH Entrance Ramp Plans. We hope to receive planning permission soon, which will allow us to proceed with an application for Lottery funding to enable the works to go ahead, possibly in 2019.
Pumpkin Festival – Saturday 27th October

Pumpkin Festival Success!
Alvechurch’s first Pumpkin Festival took place in the Village Hall on Saturday 28th October. It was a great success, with about 100 pumpkins of various types (home grown, carved, craft) on display and pumpkin-themed food and cakes were on sale in the small meeting room. More than 300 people visited the Hall during the day, and over £900 was raised for the Village Hall and our chosen charity, Papyrus. Thanks to everyone who contributed a pumpkin, who helped out on the day, and in particular to our wonderful and hard-working Pumpkin Committee! Plans are already underway to repeat the event next year. You can see a gallery of photos from the day below.
Co-Op Community Fund Update
In the second round of the local Co-Op Community Fund, we were very lucky to receive £974.52! Many thanks to the Co-Op and to all those who chose us as their charity. This money will go towards delivery of our five year plan.
